A quick shout out to the two bluegrass/folk bands we saw in Albuquerque last weekend.
The Squash Blossom Boys (which I kept thinking they were saying Squash Bottom Boys, i almost find that name more amusing)
and
The BrownChicken BrownCow String Band (which Mary found an endlessly entertaining name)
Thanks to Benny for showing us around Albuquerque, the first friday art walk, and then amusing us by going to this show with these wonderful musicians playing.
Alright, i’m going to bed, catch you tomorrow.

≡Butch Walker the topic of conversation this evening. Though he didn’t work on this particular AHF album…let’s drag up the past! So a little bit of nostalgia for your night. American Hi Fi - Flavor of the Week.

So Scott and I went to Sauced the other morning (yeah they were ACTUALLY open before noon! who knew?) for a cup of coffee and they had Mumford and Sons playing on the radio on the patio.
Never had heard of them before….great great music though.

So we start the hubub tomorrow about this project, but it being my personal blog and with all the work I’ve put into the project, I’d like a leg up on all of the hype.
Belle of St Louis (dot com) is now up and running. This first site (after the previous splash) showcases the new title track of the upcoming EP along with information about the band and project, and an interactive narrative.
To my knowledge this project works smoothly on Firefox and Safari on a Mac and on Chrome on a PC. All in how the browser reads java I suppose. I’m not thrilled with the clunkiness of the jQuery plugin for the slideshow, but time being what it is, it’s the best way I can program it for now.
I’m researching new ways to program over the next few weeks for such designs like this that Scott throws at me for Foundry. Excited about what’s to come.
Either way, programming woes aside, I’m super thrilled about this site and the Belle of St Louis project! This EP has some amazing tracks on it and the April 1 online release will be glorious.
Busy evening ahead, chat tomorrow!
