I don’t do all text posts very often, but I have an imageless link to share and I have commentary about it. If there’s one weakness in this tumblr interface I’ve concocted it’s just that.
While this article is by no means an authority to the subject it is a great breakdown of what’s going on in the Flash Actionscript vs Javascript and HTML5 circles.
To me this article doesn’t say much because of the simple fact that the things I might need flash to do for my clients, for the websites we build for them, HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript/Jquery more than covers it. In fact I haven’t found but maybe one or two things that they can’t do, and they’re usually extraneous features that are either not absolutely necessary components or they’re just flat out annoying internet trends like music on your website. Let’s face it, if you put music on your website, what is the first thing the user does? Turns the music off. 94% of people (made up statistic, i’m good at advertising aren’t I? A trait learned from the best) who surf the internet surf while listening to music, so when a website interrupts my music by playing music on top of it, who’s going to win? The music I chose or the music you chose for me and didn’t ask if I wanted to listen to it?
